anywhere. Disaster survivors are those who can protect themselves in any situation. In this episode, the theme is heatstroke, a danger lurking in extreme heat.

Elementary school students from Kumamoto, southern Japan, conduct a thorough investigation and learn about the mechanisms and risks of heatstroke. For instance, how high temperature and humidity can reduce the body's ability to regulate body temperature. They also learn how to protect themselves from heatstroke and what to do if it does occur.
