Closing Address
The 30th JAMCO International Symposium was convened online on the theme, For a Sustainable World – Responses to the COVID-19 Crisis, with presentations by and discussions between a wide range of researchers and other experts.
These presentations and discussions in this time of the COVID-19 pandemic further placed in sharp relief and highlighted the extreme importance of a wide range of challenges for developing a sustainable world, from the reform of education by means of digital technologies to support for refugees and international cooperation in broadcasting.
The presentations and records of these discussions were also placed on the JAMCO website in both Japanese and English, and viewers of the site provided feedback in the form of valuable opinions which I am sure will contribute further to these continuing discussions.
We shall continue to make energetic use of the findings and wisdom produced by these international symposiums. I depend as ever on your support for the activities of the Japan Media Communication Center.

After previously working as a reporter for the Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK) and serving as Executive Managing Director of the Secure Broadcasting Authorization and Research Center (SARC), Iwama is the current Executive Managing Director of the Japan Media Communication Center (JAMCO).
