21st JAMCO Online International Symposium
March 14 to September 15, 2013
Tsunami Response Systems and the Role of Asia's Broadcasters
Readers' Feedback
Thank you very much for the thorough report on Tsunami in Thailand.
I went to Phuket and Krabi in March 2013 to see the reconstruction progress with my fellow students from the University of Tokyo.
We found that some parts of Khao Lak have been abandoned until now.
Many landlords have sold their properties or just left them behind to start their businesses elsewhere.
The tourism business in Phuket, however, has almost fully recovered as more domestic and international flights have increased in number.
Tourists seemed more cautious when they conduct outdoor activities and signs of escape routes are widely available.
